Position Description

Position Title: Director of the Doctor of Ministry
Department: Academics, Lincoln Seminary at OCC
Reports to: Dean of Lincoln Seminary

Lincoln Seminary at Ozark Christian College contributes to OCC’s mission by providing the highest-quality graduate-level education to equip servant leaders for lifelong ministry in the church and other ministry settings.

Institutional Goals supported by Department: IG 1, 2, 3, 5

*This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). They will be required to participate in CSA training and are required to immediately forward all reports of Clery Act crimes brought to their attention to the Clery Compliance Officer.

A. Summary

​​The Director of the Doctor of Ministry oversees the development, maintenance, and advancement of Lincoln Seminary’s Doctor of Ministry program.

B. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· Oversee all aspects of the Doctor of Ministry program in conjunction with the seminary dean and relevant departments, e.g., curriculum development and execution; student recruitment, onboarding, guidance, and support; faculty collaboration, training, and management; program evaluation and improvement; resource allocation and budget management, etc.

· Teach between 12 and 18 credit hours per year.

· Serve as Program Coordinator for the MDiv.

· Serve on the Seminary Council.

· Perform other duties as necessary in consultation with the Dean of Lincoln Seminary and EVP of Academics.

· Accept and affirm all statements in the Personnel Handbook and the Faculty Handbook, including the institution’s statement of faith and statement on marriage, gender, sexuality, and life.

· Coordinate with the accreditation liaison (ALO) and the Seminary Admin Assistant to ensure data collection for evaluation of courses, programs, and professors.

C. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong understanding of theological concepts and current issues facing the church

· Ability to pastor adult students to discern and follow God’s calling on their lives

· Ability to develop and plan curriculum

· Ability to teach at the graduate and post-graduate level

· Ability to execute appropriate steps of project management in a punctual manner

· Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner, both written and oral

· Ability to define problems and assess the appropriate solutions

· Ability to facilitate effective communal experiences

· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, both in general and within the institutional culture of Ozark Christian College

· Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle confidential matters/material.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications (Gmail, calendar, drive, etc.)

· Knowledge in all areas of up-to-date Lincoln Seminary policies and procedures.

E. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

· A Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant theological field

· Over three years of leadership experience in a ministry environment (preferably local church, although parachurch may be accepted)

· Current service in the church (volunteer or paid)

· Prior experience working in an educational setting is preferred

F. Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position is primarily in a professional office setting. In this role, there will be routine use of office equipment such as photocopier, scanner, telephone, and filing system. There is prolonged use of a computer while sitting at a desk. Must be able to focus and concentrate on the computer screen with precision. Reaching, stooping, standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, and walking are all required of this role.

This position requires travel and will require that the employee maintain a valid driver’s license. The ability to travel by air is also required, both domestically and internationally.
